This movie is the sequil to The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe. I enjoyed this movie greatly, and highly recommend this movie to any fantasy movie buff.
The movie begins with the birth of King Miraz’s son. Shortly after this birth, we meet Prince Caspian as he is awakened by his toutor Doctor Cornelius. Prince Caspian flees into the forest, persued by his uncle’s assassins. Meanwhile standing in a train station in 1941, Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy Pevensie are talking about readjusting to life in England. Suddenly a wind starts gusting, and the 4 Pevensie children hold hands.
They are wisked away from England to Narnia, where they find themselves standing on a beach below some ruins. After searching through the ruins, they discover that they are in Cair Paravel, where they once ruled as the Kings and Queens of Narnia. They later learn that while it has only been one year on Earth, they have been away from Narnia for 1300 years.
This movie is about the choices they make, and how they help Prince Caspian reclaim his throne. To not spoil this movie for those who have not read the book I will leave the rest of the spoilers out. The story of the book parallels the aposticy after Christ’s death. Lewis discribed the story himself in a letter to an American girl, “(as) the restoration of the true religion after a corruption”
There are many themes in the movie, courage and chivalry as this is story is one of Narnia’s civil war. Faith in what can not be seen, the new Narnia can be seen as a parallel to the modern world, in which old beliefs are scoffed at. “Who believes in Aslan nowadays?” asks Trumpkin when he first meets Caspian. Those who “hold on”, like the badgers, are praised with the return of Aslan.
I would give this movie 4 stars out of 5.

the makers of Prince Caspian kept to the original story in some ways and strayed in others… i heard they were going to make it into a silly pure-action flick, but thankfully this was not the case

For the most part the makers of this movie did stay fairly true to the book. They did add in an additional combat scene which was not in the book, but I found that it was done tastefully, and did not take away from the story.
