Last night I headed to bed with a migraine that I would put at a 12 on a scale of 1 – 10. 1 being the worst headache most people have experienced multiplied by 5, and 10 being well say that same really bad headache times 30… Not my worst by far but still pretty bad.

I took a lortab as I was heading to bed, and it took probably a good 30 to 45 minutes for it to kick in and for me to actually be able to fall asleep.

I came up with a list of things not to try the morning after taking this very strong pain killer… or at least not to attempt until you fully wake up…

1. Don’t try to restart your computer with the ipod plugged in. I had to go wake DH up to realize my ipod was plugged in and that my computer was trying to boot windows from my Ipod… Awake I would have realized this right off…
2. Don’t try to log into any website that requires a password… I kept typing my passwords in all caps this morning…
3. Do not decide to pick up your 80 gig ipod which you can not hold onto yet, and drop it on a mirror…
4. Do not decide to braid your hair…
5. Do not try to pay your bills.

Anyways I am finally awake and able to all of these things I was attempting to do this morning without ruining stuff.

What a difference a century makes! Here are some statistics from 1902:

Happy Mother’s day! Today we honor our mothers who in my case was and is my hero, one of my best friends, and the person I most want to be like when I grow up. Yes at the age of 27 I still don’t think I am fully grown up. My mother gave everything she had to protect me and my sisters. She chose to end a cycle of abuse and in doing so gave up her security for the future. Every day I live I am so thankful for my mother. I love you Mommy! Thanks for doing an AWESOME job!

For Mother’s day I thought I would give everyone something funny to read.

The 9 Things Women say that Men should know.

1.) Fine:  This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.

 2.) Five Minutes:  If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour.  Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.

3.) Nothing:  This is the calm before the storm.  This means something, and you should be on your toes.  Arguments that begin with Nothing usually end in Fine.

4.) Go Ahead:  This is a dare, not permission. Don’t Do It!

5.) Loud Sigh:  This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men.  A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about Nothing.  (Refer back to #3 for the meaning of Nothing.)

6.) That’s Okay:  This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a man.  That’s Okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.

7.) Thanks:  A woman is thanking you, do not question, or Faint.  Just say you’re welcome.

8.) Whatever:  Is a women’s way of saying SCREW YOU!

9.) Don’t worry about it, I got it:  Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself.  This will later result in a man asking “What’s wrong?”  For the woman’s response refer to #3.

Fake or Real? That is for you to decide.This past weekend and into this week I have been having a discussion with a friend of mine who is into martial arts. He entered an underground fighting tournament for which the prize was a sword. Now a sword for a prize isn’t all that great a prize unless you collect swords. However, for my friend, this particular sword had a price more than a dollar value. The sword was made by his mentor, teacher, and friend who passed away some years ago.

Now, I don’t understand guys one bit.. They like to fight and their best friend can be a guy they beat up last week.

Us girls on the other hand we get in a fight and 10 years later we still hate the girl, yet we don’t remember what the heck we were fighting over to begin with.  

Anyways back to my friend and his fighting tourney. I received a text message from him on Thursday or Friday saying he was heading to Japan to visit his Shidoshi’s grave site. This is the guy whose sword he ended up fighting in the tournament for.

The way the conversation goes is what makes it so hard for me to understand guys.

I got permission from my friend to share the content of our texts back and forth as long as I left his name out. For the sake of being anonymous I will call this friend of mine S.

BTW the Katana fight lasted 3 mins. Hand to hand took 10. He was good. Lost to me cuz of a miss step.

I will leave the conversation here. He went on to fight again that night. I wished him luck again, however I will never understand why guys get themselves into situations like this.

Now I know why he wanted to fight in the Tournament. The sentimental value of the sword, as well as to fight the man who fatally injured his mentor in a fight. To fight someone and win without taking a life shows not only honor but great strength of will during a no holds barred fight.

Now my friend won the tournament; however supposedly the price is that he took one too many hits to the head and is in a coma. My question is this… “What price is honor worth?”

 Is honor worth your life to show that you can honorably fight a man who will hit one too many times, and fatallay injure a person, sparing their life to let them know that you are the bigger person. Is it worth the price of your life, and your dreams to fight for your mentor’s name?

Again I said I am a girl, and I don’t understand all of this, but comeon guys… Don’t forget that you are a Son of a woman, the son of a man, maybe a brother or sister, father, friend, companion to others. Women you are a Daughter of a woman, daughter of a man, brother sister, mother, friend, companion. Think for a minute of all the people who would be affected by your choices. If you die there are people who care about you. There are people who love you. There will always be someone who will cry for you. Even if you can’t see it.

Think about the price of honor. I am not saying to die for what you believe in is wrong, but if the only reason you are fighting is because you think its all you are good for you are a bigger fool than the person who dies defending their beliefs because they want to protect those who they love.
